Judy, Barbara and Alison were the intrepid walkers once again starting at Shobdon Arches, taking a circular walk on the edge of Shobdon Hill Forest where the show had mostly disappeared and back via farmland to the church at Shobdon. They met up with other members at Monkland Cheese Dairy in the cafe, sitting in the very pleasant upstairs area for a light lunch, which of course included some... cheese! Most of our members also bought some of the local cheese to take home. Another pleasant outing!
The minutes of our March and April meetings have now been uploaded to the site, see the Minutes page.
We were privileged on Wednesday 20 March to have a very interesting talk and demonstration from Kathy Knill of Pembridge. Kathy demonstrated that with a little thought and creativity anyone could wrap a parcel beautifully. She showed us how to wrap simple boxes, bottles and unusually shaped objects using brown paper, tissue paper, and even fabric paper, together with ribbons and special tags, as well as making your own gift bags. We learnt that it is important to have sharp scissors and double sided tape for the very best results. Kathy left us all completely inspired to go away and improve our gift wrapping in the future. Kathy informed us that she also does half day and day courses in the art of wrapping in which she covers how to make double bows, voucher envelopes and many other diverse sorts of wrappings.
