Due to a major upgrade of the main WI site, we are not able to update the Herefordshire pages until at least the end of August.
I have added a page which gives a link to the Google map of Staunton on Arrow, and another page of useful links, where I am listing the other WI websites in Herefordshire, and also a link to our Herefordshire pages on the main website.
Due to a major upgrade of the main WI site, we are not able to update the Herefordshire pages until at least the end of August. The minutes of the meetings in May, June and July have all been posted on the website.
Julia Higgs came to talk to us about Megan Baker House, which is a specialist day centre near Leominster for courses in conductive education primarily for children with cerebral palsy. Patients come from many miles for the care and teaching provided by the centre. Julia was going to show us information on her laptop but due to a fault in the programme on her computer, we were not able to see them.
David Hill came to show us some more of his colourful slides in April entitled 'Lost in Herefordshire'. We found it quite difficult to identify some of the places, even some which are not too far away from us, e.g. the castle at Downton. He has an eye for the quirkiness in the towns and villages around us and has many photos of odd signs and objects, as well as unusual dwellings.
In May Janet Devey came from Weobley to talk to us about the art of dowsing and how she first got into the subject, even though she is a trained scientist. She brought her dowsing rods and many of us had a turn. |
