Staunton on Arrow WI were the hosts for the 2015 meeting of the Marches Group of WI's. 31 members from 4 WI's were present; Staunton on Arrow, Pembridge, Kington and Huntington-Kington plus 2 visitors and our WI Advisor, Mrs Angela Southwell. Mrs Alison Lord welcomed the guest speaker Sue Russell and her husband working the projector. Sue gave us an excellent and clear talk with slides and amplification on climbing plants. She was very professional and gave us some good advice on what to plant and where to plant it, including some more unusual plants. Questions followed and the Vote of Thanks was given by a representative from Huntington Kington WI. Everyone found the meeting most enjoyable. Mrs Shirley Cook visited from Bromyard and gave us a demonstration of simple Thai cookery to tantalise our taste buds! She presented 2 courses, all made in the hall and we sampled both. The starter was a vegetable and mint roll, wrapped in a noodle pancake and the other course was a chicken curry in red paste with rice. Shirley explained about the various ingredients and where we might obtain them. Catherine Perham gave the vote of thanks.
