Gill Busby welcomed our speakers: 3 ladies came with 3 sewing machines (Sue, Olive and Caroline) and materials to make Morsbags, with many samples.
Morsbags are reusable cloth bags made worldwide by volunteers using recycled fabrics and given away FREE. The idea was conceived by Claire and Joe Morsman as a response to the amount of plastics bags used – many finding their way into our rivers and oceans and damaging wildlife. Pod People started in 2011 as an offshoot of Marden Arts & Crafts Society. Their aim is to give away as many bags as they can. Donations of material, such as curtains, remnants etc. are always welcome – contact Sue Price on 01432 882231. Members were able to use the sewing machines to make their own bag. All members went away with as many Morsbags as they wanted. Gill gave a vote of thanks for what was noted as a very informative evening. |
