On Monday evening 13 August seven members of our WI attended the Pimms and Puddings evening, held in a beautiful garden in Weobley. It was a very enjoyable evening, with excellent puddings,, a quiz and pin the tail on the donkey as the theme was Ascot Races!
Barbara Morgan introduced Margaret Smith from Almeley WI; her subject was entitled ‘My Adventure into Nakedness and Hessian’. Following the intriguing title, we were relieved that the nakedness referred to the naked cake which Margaret made for her son’s wedding. Margaret had lots of items made from hessian which showed her sewing talent, as well as the hessian bouquet she made for her daughter in law for her wedding. We all had a go at making card flowers from a twig and card cut from toilet roll centres; we were assured we should only use the best quality toilet roll! Marion Weaver gave the vote of thanks.
Three members Becky, Debbie and Alison started going to the Walking Netball arranged by the Herefordshire Federation. The course continues for 20 weeks and is held in Hereford.
