Ken Reeve came to talk to us about his experiences of being an evacuee in World War II. He was evacuated from London to a village near Bedford. Unlike many other children, he was evacuated from a childrens' home and so did not have the trauma of leaving family behind. Also unlike many others, he did not return to London after a few months but stayed in the village for the duration of the war. He lived with two sisters in the village and has very fond memories of them and his time there. He was sorry to return to London at the end of the war as he had to return to another childrens' home where he had a very difficult adolescence.
